Trial Begins in Paris over 2016 Gunpoint Robbery of Kim Kardashian

(AFP) – Ten suspects were brought to trial in Paris on Monday for the 2016 robbery of celebrity Kim Kardashian in 2016.

Kardashian, 44, who left Paris on the night of October 2-3, 2016, hours after the robbery, is scheduled to testify at his trial on May 13th in court appearances, which in itself is a major event.

During the trial, men were mainly in the 60s and 70s, with previous criminal records and underworld nicknames, such as “Old Omar” and “Blue Eyes,” which reminded me of the old-school French bandits of the 1960s and 1970s film noir.

The 35-year-old Kardashian was threatened with a gun on his head and tied up with a tight mouth. Theft has been the biggest for French individuals in the last 20 years.

The trial also explained how the assailants received information about where the Kardashians were staying during Paris Fashion Week, choosing a moment when her bodyguard was away and taking her sister Kourtney to a nightclub.

It is believed that Kardashian’s frequent posts about her wealth, personal life and whereabouts may have encouraged the perpetrator’s actions. The exam is currently underway from 1230 GMT.

Transportation will not recover

Starr was staying at a luxury hotel in central Paris, supported by celebrities, when two armed masked men attacked her room around 3am after arriving at the facility by bicycle.

They cried out they wanted a diamond engagement ring from her ex-husband, US rapper Kane West.

Kardashian showed it on his social media channels, and it was rated at $4 million (3.5 million euros).

They escaped in the ring in a gem worth $10 million.

The only item recovered was a diamond necklace that was dropped into the street while the thief was running away.

It all lasted just 10 minutes, and the Kardashian bodyguard arrives to rescue his client after he receives warning.

The suspect was arrested through DNA evidence three months after the robbery.

However, the seized money has clearly melted, and investigators who stole hundreds of thousands of euros from the suspect when they were arrested believe that much of the stolen transport was sold in Belgium.

“Easy” robber

Twelve suspects have been charged, and 10 have been tried starting Monday. One person passed away in March this year, and the other person will be tested individually for health reasons.

“It wasn’t a major armed robbery,” not a “easy” robbery, said Aomar Ait Khedache, 68, 68, the main suspect known as “Old Omar.” His DNA at the scene helped investigators find him and the co-defendant.

He admitted to linking Kardashians, but challenged investigators’ claims that he was the mastermind behind the robbery.

He says he has approached an unnamed “sponsor” who proposed a plan on behalf of a “informer” that is very close to the star.

According to his lawyers, Khedache now has serious hearing and speaking problems and can only be expressed in writing.

Another important suspect is Didier Dubrek, known as “blue eyes,” at age 69, who is accused of being the second person to attack the Kardashian room. He denies the charge.

Meanwhile, Yunice Abbas, 71, stayed in the lobby, and two other men allegedly went up to her room.

He was debatable to capitalize crimes by writing a book entitled “I Encouraged Kim Kardashian.”

Others on trial have been accused of being facilitators and informants, including Gary Madhar, the brother of the longtime Kardashian Paris driver.

He has been accused of providing information about her movements, which he denied.

Despite “media hype,” the trial warned one of its defense attorneys, Margot Pugliese, that it “shorter discussion must be allowed.”

The trial is scheduled to continue until May 23rd.
