Tricky betting elements with this ‘MNF’ clash

For the casual sports bettor, “Monday Night Football” has all the makings of a blast.

A dome team that has already been eliminated from the playoffs brings in a backup quarterback.

But as we all know, unless you're an SEC fan still whining about Indiana University and SMU making it to the College Football Playoff, the game isn't what it seems on paper. That's off topic…

I'm not rooting for the New Orleans Saints +14 over the Green Bay Packers. Mainly because I know when to avoid certain NFL underdogs that are backed by astute and respected bettors.

Saints vs Packers Prediction

Pros benefit. That's not up for debate. But sometimes you need to know when to avoid certain games. It all depends on your own comfort level.

“Eventually it's going to take New Orleans, but we made a highly respected bet on the Saints, and the public will flock all over Green Bay,” said John, vice president and oddsmaker at Las Vegas Superbook. Murray told Only Players on Sunday morning. “Before we can find out how the point spread will move on Monday Night Football, we have to find out how many favorites will win today.”

Pro bettors lined up Sunday to bet the Commanders +3.5 and Seahawks +3 as home underdogs, with Washington winning in thrilling fashion and Seattle pushing up.

Both were scary, but I understood the logic. And I can see the Saints' rationale, especially since I think backup quarterback Spencer Rattler is much more capable and reliable than last week's backup, Jake Hayner.

“Points mean more than opinions. The numbers that matter in the NFL are 3, 7, 10, 6, and 14. All of them are covered in this spread,” pro bettor Scott Pritchard told Only in a text message. Speaking to Players, he shared that he is betting +14.5 on New Orleans but still recommends +14. . “The Packers are here to win games, not to win by 17 points. A backdoor, meaningless TD in the second half is always up for grabs.”

According to the weather forecast, temperatures are expected to be in the 20s, but even if it snows, it will only be a light blizzard. To be honest, I think this game fits right into that number.

I'm not rooting for the Saints, mainly because New Orleans' stud running back Alvin Kamara is out, but they also don't score as many points.
