Cincinnati Health Agreement Reached
Just hours before the contract between TriHealth and UnitedHealthcare was about to end, the two organizations reached an agreement. This deal ensures that TriHealth services remain part of UHC’s network for many patients in the Cincinnati area.
“TriHealth is pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with UnitedHealthcare to ensure that TriHealth hospitals, outpatient centers, and physicians remain in-network for the tens of thousands of patients TriHealth serves through UnitedHealthcare’s Employer Sponsored Plans, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid health plans,” a statement from TriHealth explained.
The health network emphasizes that this new agreement will provide uninterrupted care for UnitedHealthcare Commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid patients.
Mark C. Clement, the president and CEO of TriHealth, mentioned in a press release, “Achieving agreement and continuing to serve the healthcare needs of the Cincinnati metropolitan community has always been TriHealth’s top priority. We understand that it has been difficult for patients insured by United Healthcare to have a period of uncertainty throughout the negotiations, and we are excited to put them behind us and focus on improving the health of our patients and communities.”
There had been growing anxiety among Cincinnati residents about whether a new partnership agreement would be reached. With the existing contract set to expire in the new year, those receiving treatment at TriHealth while under UHC coverage were worried about potentially facing unexpected medical costs.
This is a developing story.
