Will Hild, executive director of Consumers’ Research, said: Breitbart News Daily A trio of asset managers, banks and insurance companies is said to be leading the far-left environmental, social and governance (ESG) movement.
Hild spoke Breitbart News Daily Host Mike Slater talked about the ESG movement, which is the latest vector in which major financial institutions and others are pushing companies to adopt left-leaning policies they otherwise wouldn’t accept. This includes encouraging companies to adopt policies that advocate issues of racial justice and anti-climate change efforts.
Hild explained how asset managers such as major banks and insurance companies such as BlackRock, State Street, and Vanguard are driving the ESG movement.
He explained that these asset managers are “cracking down” on state, local and federal pension plans, including the federal retirement planning system, the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). In addition, Hild said major banks such as Bank of America are moving forward with carbon neutrality goals.
He said Bank of America would say, “Listen, if you want a loan from our bank, we’ll only give you a loan on the condition that you agree to these net zeros.” [emission] target. ”
Hild said many large insurance companies are pressuring companies to adopt left-leaning policies in order to receive insurance policies. But many of those insurers withdrew after pushback from state attorneys general, he said.
“We must stop them from using the public’s resources to further their personal politics,” Hild said.
Bloomberg reported in September that more ESG funds will close in 2023 than in the previous years combined. Environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing is increasingly seen as an unpopular fad among major investors.
