Tropicana Field roof torn as Hurricane Milton ramages

When Hurricane Milton hit Florida's west coast, the cities of Tampa and St. Petersburg were within sight of the massive storm. The storm made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane, causing endless damage to Florida's west coast. Major coastal areas were damaged and more than 3 million people were without power.

Tropicana Field was one of its major areas. The home of MLB's Tampa Bay Lands was designated as a place where first responders could bring people, but the field was devastated by the hurricane and the tarpaulin ripped off the stadium's roof.

The damage Hurricane Milton inflicted on the Rays' ballpark became more apparent Thursday morning as the storm left the area.

The Rays have not released a statement about the roof destruction. Hurricane Milton has moved away from Florida as of Thursday, but strong wind gusts can still be felt. For those of you who live on the east coast of Florida, please stay safe.
