Troy Aikman hit ‘rock bottom’ after second divorce

Troy Aikman said he was doing well in the public eye while privately dealing with the breakdown of his second marriage to Katherine “Capa” Muti.

The veteran NFL announcer, who rarely talks about his personal life, recalled hitting rock bottom when he realized the union was falling apart.

“It was a failure. It was my rock bottom,” the Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback, 57, said of his second marriage in a recent interview. Athletic.

Aikman admitted it's embarrassing to talk about it all these years later.

Aikman and Capa married in a small ceremony in California in September 2017, just three months after he proposed during a trip to Lake Como in Italy.

They had reportedly been dating for a year prior to that.

“For me, contentment has always been a four-letter word. I never wanted to be content,” Aikman said. “I never wanted to be around someone who was content. I just couldn't get there.”

The outlet wrote that Aikman “suddenly realized one day that his second marriage was falling apart.”

“The success everyone saw concealed an inner conflict no one knew about. Aikman wrestled with that conflict for decades, fighting his own happiness and chasing goals that may or may not have existed.”

Later in the interview, The Athletic said that complacency robbed him of his own happiness and ultimately led to the breakdown of their marriage.

Aikman has two daughters, Alexa Marie and Jordan Ashley, both in their 20s, from his first marriage to former Cowboys publicist Rhonda Worthy.

They announced their separation in January 2011 after 10 years of marriage.

Aikman did not announce his split from Capa, who still uses his last name, on Instagram at the time.

A source told The Post that Aikman filed for divorce sometime in 2020.

Aikman went public with his rumored girlfriend Hayley Clark, a Dallas native who works in sales for a men's custom clothing company, in June 2023, when she posted a photo of the pair in Italy.

The following month, People Reported Aikman and Capa are now officially divorced.

It is unclear if Aikman and Clark are still dating.

Capa, co-owner of mobile shopping service Luxeliner, has two sons from her marriage to real estate lawyer Jerry Muti.
