‘Truly Awful Individual’: JD Vance Criticizes Hasan Piker for Dog 'Electrocution'

Vice President J.D. Vance Critiques Hassan Piker’s Dog Training Methods

In a recent interview with Miranda Devine, Vice President J.D. Vance took aim at left-wing streamer Hassan Piker, responding to allegations that Piker used a shock collar on his dog during a live stream. Vance described anyone who mistreats animals as “truly awful.”

Vance shared insights into training his family’s German shepherd, Atlas, comparing it to video footage of Piker that has sparked significant backlash this month. He emphasized that “no dogs have been electrocuted” in his home. The Daily Caller has reported on numerous clips suggesting mistreatment of Piker’s dog, Kaya, along with a comprehensive compilation of the incidents that has circulated online since the allegations began.

When Devine asked if it’s necessary to train dogs in the same way Piker allegedly did, Vance responded with laughter, insisting, “No, no. Like Hasan Piker? No! We don’t electrocute dogs here.”

Further probing about what Piker’s behavior suggests, Vance stated, “Abusing a dog is almost 100% a sign that you’re going to be a really bad person,” noting that such cruelty often accompanies disregard for human suffering.

The situation escalated on October 8 when streamer Tektone shared a clip where Piker allegedly used a shock collar on Kaya, which seemed to provoke distress from the dog. Despite this, Piker later refuted the claim and dismissed viewer concerns by jokingly referring to it as his “evil villain’s lair.”

Since then, other content creators have surfaced additional videos indicating a series of harsh handling incidents. While Piker displayed the collar during his stream and asserted it merely vibrates, the controversy remains divisive as people continue to scrutinize the evidence.

Highlighting the extensive training process for Atlas, Vance likened the treatment of well-trained dogs to the character of their owners, suggesting that if Atlas is treated well, it’s a sign of good people.
