Donald Trump Jr.’s eldest daughter, Kai Madison Trump, spoke at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin about her feelings for her grandfather and how former President Donald Trump “genuinely wants the best for this country.”
After being introduced to her father, Kai Trump said her grandfather was a “regular grandpa” who gives his grandchildren “candy and soda” and calls them to ask how they are. She added that the mainstream media tries to make the former president look “like someone he’s not.”
“I’m speaking today to show you a side of my grandfather that people don’t often see,” Kai Trump told the audience. “To me, he’s just your average grandfather. He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking. He always wants to know how we’re doing at school. When I was on the honor roll, he printed it out to show my friends how proud he was of me.”

Kai Trump added that the former president would call him “in the middle” of class and ask him “how’s the golf going?”
“I have to remind him that I’m at school and will have to call him back later,” Kai Trump added. “When we play golf together and I’m not on his team, he tries to understand my perspective. And he’s always amazed that I’m not swayed by him, but I have to remind him that I’m part of the Trump family, too.”
Trump’s son added that despite his own litigation spree, his grandfather “is always asking how his daughter is doing.”
“He always pushes me to be as successful as I can be. Of course, he sets the bar pretty high, but maybe one day I’ll catch up to him,” Kai Trump continued.
Following Saturday’s shooting at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, the former president’s granddaughter continued to speak about how she felt when she found out her grandfather had survived an assassination attempt.

“I was shocked to hear my grandfather was shot on Saturday and just wanted to know if he was OK. It’s heartbreaking that someone could do this to someone else,” Kai Trump added. “So many people put him through hell but he’s still standing up. Grandpa, you are truly an inspiration to me and I love you.”
“The media has portrayed my grandfather as someone he was not, but I know the real him – a very caring and loving man who truly wanted the best for this country and fought every day to Make America Great Again,” she concluded.
