A CNN reporter shared that President Donald Trump ended a phone interview about Jeffrey Epstein abruptly on Tuesday. Andrew Kaczynski from CNN mentioned they spoke briefly, roughly 30 seconds, during which Trump seemed hesitant when asked about old wedding photos with Epstein, responding that the matter should be taken lightly.
The CNN report focused on resurfaced images and archival video footage revealing Trump’s past connection with Epstein from the 1990s. It included pictures from Trump’s wedding to Marla Maples in 1993, where Epstein was present, and footage featuring the two at a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 1999. Kaczynski also shared a photo of Trump with his children and Epstein at the opening of the Harley Davidson Café in New York, captured by photographer Dafydd Jones in 1993.
Kaczynski pointed out that these newly uncovered materials could lead to further examination of Trump’s association with Epstein, particularly given Epstein’s notoriety due to his criminal activities.
Furthermore, Trump’s ties to Epstein drew renewed attention after the Department of Justice released a memo stating there was no evidence of a client list associated with Epstein, despite many rumors and speculations. This has prompted calls from both sides of the aisle for complete transparency regarding Epstein’s records. Trump’s former comments reflected a more positive view of Epstein, describing him as “a great guy” in a 2002 interview. However, by 2019, Trump claimed he hadn’t interacted with Epstein for at least 15 years after Epstein faced serious criminal charges.
Last month, White House spokesperson Stephen Chen dismissed the CNN report as mere footage from public events, emphasizing that Trump had distanced himself from Epstein because of his disreputable behavior. The conversation around Epstein’s untimely death in prison and the subsequent conspiracy theories surrounding it continues to fuel public interest in this complex issue.
