Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Whatley said in a television appearance on Friday that former President Donald Trump was “vastly dominant” in Thursday night’s debate, but that President Joe Biden was “weak on every level.” Breitbart News Daily.
“President Trump’s performance was just overwhelming. This election is going to be a battle of strength versus weakness, but what we saw on stage last night was President Trump’s strength,” Whatley said when asked for his thoughts on Thursday night’s debate.

“He was concise, he was specific. He defended his record very well, he spoke about the solutions going forward for the country, how Joe Biden will get us out of the mess that he’s brought to America,” he said.
“Joe Biden was weak on every front, failed to defend his record at all, offered no new policy proposals, and all he wants to do is double down on the failed policies that are getting America into such a bind right now. President Trump’s performance couldn’t have been any stronger,” the Republican National Committee chairman continued, questioning how realistic it was for Democrats to replace Biden. And ultimately, he said, it doesn’t matter because “there is no Democratic candidate that stands differently from Joe Biden.”

Either way, Whatley said “this is a great day” for the RNC and Trump, and urged people to remember that Trump put in a strong performance despite all the news focused on Democratic panic over Biden’s debate performance.
“I mean, he lived up to his expectations last night and he accomplished every single one of his goals. I think it’s interesting that everybody wants to talk about how bad Joe Biden was. Don’t get me wrong, he was terrible, right? But President Trump accomplished every single goal he needed to accomplish last night and had a dominant performance in the debate,” he said.

Trump, he argued, has the actual facts on his side.
“Gas prices are 55 percent higher than they were four years ago. Housing costs twice as much as it did four years ago. Food prices are 20 percent higher, and American wages, real wages, have fallen over the last four years. And what we saw last night was … President Biden has doubled down on all of these policies. We’ve seen Democrats in Congress and the Senate double down on all of the policies that got us to this situation,” he said.
“Donald Trump is offering solutions. The Republican nominee is offering solutions because we understand what’s hurting American families. And we’re going to offer solutions to win,” he continued, noting that “there’s a lot of enthusiasm on our side.”
“You know, we really think of fundraising totals as a measure of enthusiasm. … In May we raised $141 million, 2 million donors, a third of them had never donated to a political candidate before, and 700,000 new people gave to Donald Trump for the first time. So that’s a poll in itself, and I haven’t received the report yet, but I expect last night’s fundraising numbers and trends over the next few days will reflect that enthusiasm, especially at the small dollar level,” Whatley predicted.
