Trump accuses Biden of personally getting ‘a lot of money’ from Hunter’s overseas business deals

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday accused President Biden of personally benefiting from his eldest son Hunter Biden’s overseas dealings, citing the commander-in-chief’s real estate portfolio as potential evidence.

The Republican front-runner spoke to Fox News host Laura Yin about his response to people who claim there is no evidence Joe Biden, 81, received money at a town hall event in Greenville, South Carolina. He leveled the accusations after being questioned by Graham. He is benefiting from the influence peddling activities of his 53-year-old son.

“Well, he’s got a lot of houses here and there, but he’s never been paid more than $179,000,” Trump said, incorrectly stating Biden’s income.

President Trump cited multiple presidential homes as evidence that the president may have benefited financially from his son’s business dealings. Reuters

The former president put it even more clearly:

“He got a lot of money. Hunter got a lot of money. Hunter gets paid millions of dollars just to sit on the Energy Commission and he knows nothing about energy. “I admit that we don’t have one,” President Trump said.

The eldest son was appointed to the board of Ukrainian energy giant Burisma Holdings, which paid Hunter up to $1 million a year, for five years starting in April 2014, as his father took over leadership of U.S. policy toward Ukraine as vice president. Worked.

Biden’s annual salary as president is $400,000. During his eight years as Barack Obama’s vice president, Biden earned about $235,000 a year. And Biden’s highest salary during his 36 years in the Senate was just over $169,000 a year in 2008.

But during his time as vice president and president from 2017 to 2019, Biden earned more than $16.5 million in book deals and large payments for speaking engagements.

The president currently owns two properties in Delaware. One is a 6,850-square-foot mansion in Wilmington that was purchased in 1998 for $350,000 and is now reportedly worth at least $2 million, and the other is a 4,800-square-foot mansion in Rehoboth Beach. It was a villa in Ft., which he had purchased. In 2017, it was $2.74 million.

Last year, House Republicans launched an impeachment inquiry into President Biden’s possible involvement in his family’s business dealings.

Biden rented a 12,000-square-foot home in McLean, Virginia, in 2017 for an estimated $20,000 a month.

House Republicans leading the impeachment inquiry into the president’s family’s alleged involvement in business dealings have long demanded that Trump provide bank statements to prove he did not benefit financially from the operation. It’s here.

President Biden has repeatedly claimed he has “never talked” about business with his family, and in December said he has “never spoken” to foreign business associates, despite evidence that they had repeatedly talked about it. There was no interaction,” he said.
