Trump Achieves Trade and Peace Advances

Over the weekend, President Donald Trump celebrated a significant achievement in trade and peace, aligning with his ongoing commitment to the Maga agenda promised to Americans.

Following a tense 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran, Trump, who faced some criticism previously, called for a ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand on Saturday, utilizing trade as a negotiating tool.

“I’ve only spoken to the Cambodian Prime Minister regarding the dispute with Thailand,” Trump stated, urging the Thai Prime Minister to “make a similar call for a ceasefire to end the ongoing conflict.” He emphasized that the U.S. does not wish to engage in trade while these nations are at war, reinforcing his position as a dealmaker focused on promoting global peace.

He mentioned, “I’ve had a brief call with Thailand. The call with Cambodia just concluded, but I’m hoping to reach out again to discuss the suspension of hostilities based on Thailand’s feedback. I’m trying to clarify this complicated situation.”

In May, not long after his second term began, Trump played a pivotal role in easing tensions between India and Pakistan, receiving accolades from the Pakistani government, which even nominated him for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize.

In updates on Saturday, Trump reiterated his desire for an “immediate ceasefire and peace, similar to what we aim for in Cambodia.” After discussions with both parties, he confirmed, “Both sides are seeking an immediate ceasefire and peace.”

During his leadership, Trump also facilitated a peace agreement between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

In addition to his “America First” trade policy, Trump is set to discuss peace and trade with British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer. He recently announced a $750 billion energy deal with the European Union, which also includes a significant investment increase and plans to purchase U.S. military equipment.

Trump explained, “They’ve agreed to eliminate tariffs entirely. The U.S. is set to adjust car tariffs from 15% to zero, making it easier for trade to flow.” He added that the previous barriers to U.S. agricultural exports would also be reduced.

These accomplishments coincide with Trump’s visit to Scotland, where he is scheduled to enhance trade relationships. According to White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, Trump has been securing “great trade agreements.”

“President Trump is on a winning streak in Scotland. His successes in both peace and trade showcase his prowess as a negotiator on behalf of the American public,” noted White House assistant reporter Taylor Rogers in a statement.
