Trump addresses Epstein situation: 'Let Pam Bondi handle it'

President Trump praised Attorney General Pam Bondy on Saturday night, commending her performance as “great.”

He remarked, “What’s happening with my ‘boy’ and, in some situations, ‘gal’? They’re all pursuing Attorney General Pam Bondy, who is on our side.”

Trump alleged that some political opponents have “fabricated” the Epstein Files, asserting that the outrage among certain members of the Maga movement regarding these documents is something his long-standing critics are eager to exploit.

“For years, it’s been the same story over and over. Why are we showcasing files from Obama, the crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the criminals in the Biden administration? The documents they used against me are now in the hands of my so-called ‘friends,'” he expressed in a statement, referencing the FBI’s probes into potential ties between Russia and his 2016 campaign.

He questioned, “Why didn’t these radical leftists release the Epstein Files? If there was damaging information for the Maga movement, why didn’t they make use of it?”

This statement unveils an ongoing struggle within the administration surrounding the handling of Epstein-related documents. Associate FBI Director Dan Bongino has called attention to this issue and has been at odds with Department of Justice leaders. Multiple reports indicated that Bongino contemplated resigning from his position late last week.

Concerns arose just days after the DOJ and FBI shared a memo stating Epstein had committed suicide in 2019 and noted there was no “client list,” a revelation that angered many in the Maga movement, who have circulated conspiracy theories about Epstein’s death for years.

White House spokesman Harrison Fields stated, “This work is cohesive and unified. Any division within this team is unfounded and detracts from meaningful progress in restoring public safety and pursuing justice for everyone.”

Bondy has faced significant criticism from Trump supporters, including notable right-wing commentators, for her previous statements about wanting to be transparent regarding the Epstein case. During a Fox News interview in February, she mentioned that Epstein’s “client list” was “sitting” on her “desk,” though she clarified earlier this week that she was referring to various documents linked to the case.

“Let Pam Bondy do her job – she’s incredible! The 2020 election was rigged and stolen, and they’re trying to do the same for 2024 – that’s what she views as her role as AG. A year ago, our country was in trouble,” Trump remarked, though he had lost to Biden in the 2020 presidential election without evidence of widespread fraud.

“Don’t waste your time and energy, Jeffrey Epstein’s case isn’t worth it,” Trump added.

In a post on his platform, he advised FBI director Kash Patel and the bureaus to concentrate on apprehending criminals rather than delving into Epstein’s files.

“Kash Patel and the FBI should focus on investigating voter fraud, political corruption, Actblue, and the stolen 2020 elections. They need to arrest the wrongdoers instead of dwelling on the same old, left-leaning documents related to Epstein,” the president stated.

Epstein was accused of several cases involving sex trafficking of underage girls and associated with notable figures from various sectors. His associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was found guilty of sex trafficking and received a 20-year sentence in 2022.

Trump continued, emphasizing, “Look at how successful we are, how we manage our borders, deport criminals, stabilize our economy, and control our energy. We’re creating a safer world where Iran won’t have nuclear weapons.”

He concluded, “We’re aiming to accomplish more in six months than other administrations have in a century. There’s still work to be done; we’re saving our country and making America great again.”
