Trump Address at UN General Assembly Highlights European Immigration Issues
During a recent speech at the UN General Assembly, former President Donald Trump emphasized the crisis Europe is facing due to the surge of illegal immigration. He expressed strong discontent, claiming that the United Nations could face dire consequences with its “failed experiment of open boundaries.”
Trump noted, “Europe has serious problems. They’ve been invaded by illegal aliens on an unprecedented scale. They are pouring in, and nothing has been done to drive them out. It’s simply not sustainable.” His administration had advocated for a firm approach to immigration, aiming to bolster his deportation policies.
Continuing his critique, Trump stated, “The UN should be stopping aggression, not creating it. In the U.S., we reject the notion that many from abroad can just come and disregard borders, leading to crime and straining social systems.”
Concerns over NATO and Military Actions
In light of ongoing global tensions, Trump mentioned the need for NATO allies to consider shooting down Russian aircraft breaching airspace. After discussing the Ukraine conflict with Ukrainian President Voldymi Zelensky, Trump expressed confidence that with European support, Ukraine could reclaim its territory amidst the ongoing war with Russia. “Considering the military and economic situation, I believe Ukraine is positioned to reclaim everything,” he said, highlighting the importance of time, patience, and financial backing from Europe.
Criticism of the UN
Trump didn’t hold back in his criticism of the UN, accusing it of provoking new issues rather than resolving them. He remarked, “Why not? Russia has dragged this conflict for three and a half years when it could have been resolved much quicker. This doesn’t demonstrate strength; rather, it shows them as a ‘paper tiger’.”
Following his UN appearance, Trump made his way to Farmingdale, New York, to attend the Ryder Cup Golf Competition with his granddaughter, Kai. His schedule included attending other sporting events in New York earlier that month, such as the US Open Men’s Finals and a Yankees game on September 11th.
