Trump admin repurposes problematic CBP One app for migrants to ‘self-deport’: ‘leave now’

The Trump administration is completely reusing the problematic CBP one phone app that allows more than a million immigrants to flock to the United States.

The new app will allow immigrants to report details about them so that they can voluntarily leave the country instead of being dumped by the ice, Homeland Security (DHS) Director Christie Noem said Monday.

Noem said the “self-abolition” option is favorable for immigrants who are illegally in the country.

“If they don't, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return,” warned Noem.

Former President Joe Biden used the app to sway more than a million immigrants domestically, but the moment President Trump took office was all over.

DHS quickly cancelled all pending reservations and shut down the app's functionality. Mexican immigrants were waiting to be appointed for their entry.

The app now has a “submit intent to leave” button for illegal immigrants, informing the Fed's intention to leave the country.

The new app includes a “Send Intent to Departure” button for immigrants who choose to be deported from the United States rather than an ice arrest.

The new program continues to focus on the Trump administration's increased ice arrests and deportation, and closure of borders at illegal intersections.

Ice also took him to the streets in deportation raids across the United States, beginning to prioritize arrests of immigrants with criminal records and deportation orders.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration closed access to an illegally crossing immigrant system of asylum, and ended its use of “fishing and liberation” by previous administrations.

As a result, border agents saw the lowest level of illegal crossing in recorded history last month.

Some immigrants have seen what is written on the wall and have immediately opted to go back south, with Honduras authorities reporting the movement.

“These individuals cited a heavy security stance in line with the US-Mexico border and Mexico's containment efforts, as an important reason to reverse the course.”
