Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) said Sunday in CNN’s “Union Status” that in the case of Kilmer Abrego Garcia, Trump administration officials should be emptied the courts because of their actions.
Klobuchar said, “What you’re seeing now is the courts that do their jobs. This isn’t just the district courts. There’s an appeals court written by a very conservative judge appointed by Ronald Reagan. Meeting with Abrego Garcia, what can the administration do to do that? Deportation. And of course, in past administrations, they’ve followed the law, and in other areas, the Trump administration is following the law.”
Host Dana Bash said, “I just want to make sure you understand what you’re saying right. I don’t know if the federal courts, perhaps the district courts, will tell you if they can even do this.
Klobuchar said, “Yes, that’s how our law works. Yes.”
