On Sunday night, Brusewitz, 27, passed out mid-speech after his words became noticeably “slurred.”
“I forgot my words,” he said, slumping forward onto the podium.
Raheem Kassam, a former senior aide to British politician Nigel Farage, then appeared on stage to calm the nerves of those in attendance.
“I talked to my friend Alex Brusewitz, and you know what he said to me? He said, 'At least I looked cool?'” Kassam said.
“I said, 'Alex, you've used gravity more than I've ever seen anyone use gravity in my life,'” he joked. “But… He's recovering there, so cheer loud so he can hear.”
On Monday, Brusewitz's attorney, Joseph D. McBride, posted to X explaining that Brusewitz remains hospitalized and undergoing a series of tests.
“He remains in a New York hospital where he is undergoing a series of tests. Please keep this young fighter in your thoughts and prayers,” McBride wrote.
Bruzewitz also reportedly fainted for a second time after arriving at the hospital, according to two people familiar with the incident who contacted reporters.
