Trump Suggests Giants Hire Harbaugh as Head Coach
President Donald Trump recently shared his thoughts on social media, urging the New York Giants to bring John Harbaugh on board as their next head coach. On Saturday, Trump posted, “The New York Football Giants should hire John Harbaugh, without a doubt. And John, the great man, should take the job!!!” on Truth Social.
This isn’t the first time Trump has praised Harbaugh. Just a few days earlier, he described the former Baltimore Ravens coach as a “total winner,” encouraging the Giants to make the hire quickly.
Harbaugh was let go by the Ravens after an impressive tenure that lasted 18 seasons, highlighted by six AFC North titles and a Super Bowl victory. His firing came after a disappointing season, where the team missed the playoffs in a dramatic fashion, losing a crucial game due to a missed field goal.
Now, Harbaugh emerges as a leading candidate, attracting interest from multiple teams. Meanwhile, the Giants have faced challenges of their own, currently holding a less-than-stellar record over the past decade.
The team recently parted ways with head coach Brian Daboll, following a particularly disappointing season. Interim coach Mike Kafka stepped in but faced difficulties, finishing with a 2-5 record. Daboll’s time with the Giants had started strong, earning him NFL Coach of the Year honors in his first season, but it declined significantly over the years.
As the Giants look to rebuild, they’ll likely consider all options, including Harbaugh. Reports suggest that he is reviewing film from various players to assess the landscape of potential opportunities.
