The Trump administration experienced further developments over the weekend. Following the release of documents by Tulsi Gabbard concerning what she termed an “annoying conspiracy” related to the Trump-Russia allegations, the former president expressed hopes that justice would be served to his adversaries.
Recently, Trump shared a document suggesting that Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) might have committed mortgage fraud. In a post on Truth Social, he called for Schiff to face indictment.
“I want to see him [Adam Schiff] put on trial,” Trump stated.
Trump accused Schiff of wrongdoing, asserting, “He should be charged just as he sought to indict me,” in a post made Sunday afternoon. The documents allegedly show that Schiff claimed Maryland property as his primary residence.
While Schiff is not prohibited from labeling Maryland property as his primary residence during his time as a lawmaker, discrepancies in property filings dating back to 2003 have surfaced. Some reports indicate conflicting claims regarding his main residence, which appears to be listed in both Maryland and California.
During a recent exchange on Fox News, Peter Doocy asked Trump about his assertions regarding Schiff. “What does it mean when Adam Schiff says he wants to go to trial?” he pressed.
Schiff did not respond immediately to inquiries. Earlier this week, he referred to Trump’s allegations as “an unfounded attempt at political retaliation.” A spokesperson for Schiff also commented on the situation but did not provide further details.
