DeWine's decision to choose Husted to fill the vacant Senate seat seemed to accelerate Lamaswamy's move to begin running for the governor.
Top members of Vance's political team, including advisors Andy Slavian and Jay Chabria, played key roles in Vance's 2022 Senate race and his vice presidential election last summer and fall.
Tony Fabrizio, a veteran Republican poller who worked on Trump's 2016 and 2024 campaigns, is also known as Arthur Schwartz, a close ally of Vance and Donald Trump Jr., for Vance's 2022. The 2019 Senate campaign is also taking part.
The competition for GOP's governor nominations may be competitive. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, 68, announced his candidacy for governor last month.

“This is my heart, my home,” Yost said in a press release announcing his candidacy. “I work for the people of Ohio and I love my boss. I think about them and the future from when I wake up in the morning until I go to sleep at night.”

Yost also announced that he brought staff from Trump's political world to join the campaign, Justin Clark, former Trump's official campaign, has joined the campaign as a general consultant.
Lt. Col. Jim Tressel, a well-known former Ohio State football head coach who was sworn in Husted's success last month, appears to be pondering the governor's run.
Former Ohio Health Director, Dr. Amy Acton, is currently the only Democrat in the race.

Ramaswamy was raised in Evendale, Ohio, in the suburbs of Cincinnati by her parents who migrated from India. His father worked as an engineer at General Electric Aviation, and his mother was a geriatric psychiatrist. Ramaswamy and his family currently live outside of Columbus.
Soon the candidate filed papers at the Ohio Secretary of State's office on Friday prior to his campaign's launch.
