Trump’s Strong Stance Against Socialism After NY Primaries
President Donald Trump has asserted that the United States will “NEVER” become a communist nation, following the success of several candidates backed by New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a self-identified democratic socialist, in the recent primary elections.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed concern about “many Communists running in badly failing Blue States.”
He added, “The bad news is that history has conclusively shown that the downtrodden States that they will soon be running will ONLY GET WORSE.”
While Trump did not specify which candidates he was referring to, three democratic socialists triumphed in significant primaries in predominantly liberal districts:
- Claire Valdez, who claimed victory in New York’s 7th Congressional District Democrat primary for the U.S. House;
- Darializa Avila Chevalier won the primary for New York’s 13th Congressional District;
- Brad Lander, an urban planner and former New York City comptroller, won in New York’s 10th Congressional District.
Additionally, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won the Democrat primary for New York’s 14th District, joining Representative Rashida Tlaib as the two members of the Democratic Socialists of America in Congress. Although Senator Bernie Sanders identifies as a democratic socialist, he is not officially part of the group.
Despite having a surprisingly cordial relationship with the New York mayor, Trump continues to vehemently oppose socialist policies associated with the left, warning that such ideologies jeopardize American values, freedom, and constitutional governance—contrasting sharply with his “America First” agenda.
“America the Beautiful will NEVER be a Communist Country!!!” Trump emphasized in another Truth Social post early Wednesday.
