Trump and Melania delight trick-or-treaters with an Air Force One flyover during the Halloween event at the White House

WASHINGTON — An Air Force One flew over the White House, while costumed characters from different eras—like founding fathers alongside dinosaurs—mixed about. It was another festive Halloween celebration at the White House.

President Trump and first lady Melania Trump welcomed a crowd of around 6,000 on the South Lawn during this annual gathering, handing out full-sized chocolate bars to the eager trick-or-treaters.

One young boy, dressed as a founding father, presented the president with a historic document, which might have been the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence, seeking his signature. Trump also signed a couple of race car drivers’ uniforms.

Parents snapped photos as children hugged the president and first lady, capturing the joyful moments.

In the background, the US Air Force string band played some spooky tunes, while construction on the president’s new ballroom continued with the sounds of metal saws sparking in the air.

High above, the new Air Force One—decked in its signature red, white, blue, and gold—performed a flyover, circling back for a final pass over the South Lawn.

Trump paused to highlight the plane to the children before diving back into the festivities, creating a light-hearted atmosphere. At one point, he even danced a little to the “Ghostbusters” theme.

Members of the administration brought their families along, including Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. The gathering also featured military personnel, law enforcement, as well as foster and adoptive families.

The South Lawn was beautifully decorated for the event, featuring an enormous harvest moon above, glowing orange and accompanied by silhouettes of bats fluttering by. The grounds were filled with pumpkins and squash, adding to the festive scene.

Along with trick-or-treating, the Treasury Department distributed coloring books to promote Trump Accounts. The Center of Science and Industry provided STEAM science-experiment kits for the children.

The International Fresh Produce Association offered apples from Michigan, while candy was generously supplied by the National Confectioners Association.

Lastly, the Agriculture Department set up a giant pumpkin photo opportunity to help everyone remember the evening.
