Staff members advised Trump to refrain from making disparaging remarks and to handle the situation with care. The contention with Musk, one of the wealthiest men globally, was seen as potentially diverting attention from necessary Republican efforts to push significant spending proposals forward. Meanwhile, Musk hinted at a possible public reconciliation involving hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, suggesting that they both could “make peace for the benefit of our nation.”
