Trump announces autism update will be made on Monday

President Trump announced that his administration will unveil details regarding autism on Monday, following a report by the Wall Street Journal indicating a possible connection between Tylenol and the condition in children.

“I will be making an announcement about autism on Monday,” Trump stated during a gathering at Mount Vernon, the historic estate of George Washington, for the American Foundation Stone Institute.

“I believe this is going to be a significant announcement, and it might be one of the most crucial things we undertake,” he emphasized.

No specifics about the announcement were shared by Trump.

Additionally, Trump mentioned plans to award former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson next week.

Trump, Carson, and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have all issued statements linking autism to vaccines and other medications, despite a lack of scientific evidence backing these assertions.

“Thirty years ago, we heard figures like one in 200,000 or one in 100,000 people,” Trump remarked during a press conference in December. “Now, I’m hearing numbers that are substantially lower. There’s clearly something wrong, and I intend to find out what it is,” he added.

Just last Thursday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced it would begin funding research into the hypothesis that vaccines might cause autism.

This investigation coincides with the resignation of several high-ranking CDC officials, who cited concerns about the “weaponization of public health” as figures like Kennedy pushed to reschedule vaccines for various populations, including school-aged children, pregnant women, and seniors.

In his remarks on Saturday, Trump touched on a variety of topics, including a potential third season for a project, and mentioned receiving a call from actor Tom Cruise.

Cruise had previously declined Trump’s invitation to honor him at the prestigious Kennedy Center Awards last month after numerous artists cancelled their performances following the administration’s acquisition of the venue.
