Trump’s New Year’s Eve Celebration at Mar-a-Lago

During a New Year’s Eve event at his Mar-a-Lago club, President Donald Trump expressed his desire for “peace on Earth” while walking in with First Lady Melania Trump. Dressed in a tuxedo with a black bow tie, Trump looked sharp, while Melania turned heads in a stunning silver gown. Outside the ballroom, reporters took a moment to inquire about his New Year’s resolution for 2026.

In a light moment, Trump simply stated, “Peace on Earth,” and even encouraged the press to come inside the party if they wanted to. Inside, he spoke about the country’s current state, highlighting what he considered his significant achievements from 2025. He mentioned the vast sums generated from tariffs, calling it one of his proudest accomplishments during his second term.

Trump also pointed out that service members are feeling grateful for the $1,776 tax-free “warrior dividends” distributed to more than 1.4 million military personnel in December, honoring the founding of the nation. However, the president did touch on recent fraud allegations in Minnesota that have raised eyebrows nationally, with connections purportedly tied to the Somali community. He assured everyone that he intends to “get to the bottom of” this issue.

“Other than that, we’re going to have a great new year,” he remarked. “Actually … I view that as a reason for a good new year, because we’re going to get to the bottom of it. We’re gonna get that money back — It’s all coming back.”

The spotlight has shifted to Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz, a failed Democrat vice presidential candidate, amidst the unfolding fraud scandal. Reports indicate that some organizations pretended to be social assistance entities, like childcare services, to obtain federal grants, but didn’t serve the public as promised—or sometimes didn’t serve anyone at all.

As the new year dawns, Walz’s administration will face scrutiny from the House Oversight Committee, which is questioning how such fraud could have occurred under his oversight. The situation is also heating up for those vying for his position in the 2026 gubernatorial race, including Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow, who recently launched his campaign.

Moving on to something a bit different, Trump introduced artist Vanessa Horabuena as “one of the greatest living artists.” He remarked on her talent, noting her ability to produce amazing portraits in a short timeframe. Horabuena began with a blank black canvas, painting a cross at the center, and transformed it into a portrait of Jesus Christ in just ten minutes while guests enjoyed the music.

“She can paint slowly a beautiful portrait for the White House or she can paint the most incredible painting in literally 10 minutes,” Trump said, praising her skill. “She’s a speed painter and she’s a great painter.”
