President-elect Donald Trump announced Saturday night that former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley and former CIA director and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will not serve in the new administration.
President Trump announced on Truth Social:
I have no intention of inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to the current Trump administration. I have greatly enjoyed and appreciated working with them and would like to thank them for their contributions to our country. Let's Make America Great Again!
Haley replied:
I was proud to work with President Trump at the United Nations to protect America. I wish him and all of his servants great success over the next four years in moving us toward a stronger and safer America.
Haley ran against Trump in the 2024 Republican presidential primary and was supported by Never Trumpers and others.
Pompeo came up in a recent Fox News report. said“Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo may return to head the Defense Agency after the end of the Trump administration's first term.''
