Former President Trump is returning to Butler, Pennsylvania, to hold an outdoor rally at the same spot where the first assassination took place. Attempt In July.
“President Donald J. Trump will return to Butler, Pennsylvania, to hold a rally in the very place where he nearly lost his life less than three months ago,” the campaign said in a news release Wednesday.
The Republican presidential candidate is scheduled to speak at the Butler Farm Show in a northern Pittsburgh suburb on October 5.
At a rally in Mint Hill, North Carolina, on Wednesday, Trump said he wanted to return to the venue “to finish my speech.”
“As you know, to our knowledge, there have been two assassination attempts on me. The first one took place in Butler, Pennsylvania. It's a great place. We're going back to Butler,” he said. “I'm going to go back and finish my speech.”

During the rally, Trump's campaign said the former president would pay tribute to those who died in the assassination attempt.
Corey Comperatore, 50, is a firefighter and father of two daughters who the Trump campaign said “was historically worthy of sacrificing his life to protect his wife and daughters”.
Trump is also expected to thank two other Americans injured by the gunman, David Duch and James Copenhaver.
“He would like to express his deep gratitude to police and emergency personnel and would be grateful for the outpouring of love and support he has received from across the community following the attack,” the campaign said.

The Trump campaign said returning to the site of the first assassination attempt was a “tribute to the American spirit.”

Whenever our nation faces attack or hardship, we unite, we endure, and we prevail,” the campaign said in a statement. “When terrorists topple skyscrapers, we rebuild even taller. When our communities are ravaged by fire, storms, and natural disasters, we come back united and stronger.”
“And as a gunman attacks our democracy and seeks to end this movement, President Trump will return to that place with tens of thousands of proud Americans, and together we will celebrate a unified vision for America's future in an event like the world has never seen before.”

The Trump campaign said Trump is “more determined than ever” following two assassination attempts in the past nine weeks, in Butler, Pennsylvania, and at Trump's golf clubs in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“On July 13th, at Butler Field, he took a bullet for democracy, and on November 5th, he will save our democracy,” they said. “With the help of the great people of Pennsylvania and citizens across the nation, we will make America safer, stronger, freer and greater than ever before.”
