Trump Appoints Katie Zacharia as the New White House Press Secretary

Katie Zacharia has been appointed as the new White House press secretary, marking a significant move in the Trump administration. Previously a conservative commentator and spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security, Zacharia’s new role was announced by President Donald Trump via Truth Social.

In his post, Trump expressed, “It is my Great Honor to have just appointed, as Press Secretary, Katie Zacharia. Katie currently serves as Senior Communications Advisor to Truth Social, where she has been outstanding! … Good luck Katie! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Zacharia thanked Trump for the opportunity, calling it a “distinguished privilege” and the “honor of a lifetime.” In a post on X, she shared her eagerness to collaborate with the White House press corps and reporters nationwide to disseminate their accomplishments. She also noted, “Following the fabulous Karoline Leavitt is a high standard, and one worth meeting.”

Before her new appointment, Zacharia had a brief tenure as a spokesperson for Secretary Kristi Noem and worked as a communications adviser for Trump Media and Technology Group, which oversees Truth Social, as detailed on her LinkedIn profile.

Karoline Leavitt, who held the press secretary role since the beginning of Trump’s second term, departed from the position in August after recently giving birth to her second child.

Zacharia’s diverse experience includes working as a legal adviser for Fix California, an initiative led by Trump’s special envoy, Ric Grenell. She has also been a common face on various conservative media platforms.

Her political career began back in 2006, interning at the Republican National Committee, and later at the White House’s Office of Public Affairs during President Bush’s administration. She holds a law degree from Pepperdine University in California.
