According to a new survey, President Trump's approval rate is held at 44% after his first month of returning to the oval office.
Reuters/Ipsos pollsReleased Tuesday, 44% of Americans found that after the first 30 days of his second term, 44% of Americans would approve Trump's performance. He disapproved his leadership by about 50%, a slight decline from 51% the previous week.
Still, the 44% approval is higher than former President Biden had during his tenure in 2021-2024. Research shows that this number is greater than what Trump has netted for most of his first term.
More than 10 respondents, over 41%, have approved Trump's economic handling. Another 34% of Americans say they support the president's response to rising livelihood costs, according to the survey.
Half of respondents supported Trump's approach to immigration. This is one of the biggest issues he campaigned during the 2024 election. The 50% rating represents an almost three-point increase from previous surveys, polls said.
However, about 42% of Americans were not in favor of his robust immigration agenda.
More Americans have negative views about Trump's important ally Elon Musk. The move raised concerns over the seemingly unconfirmed power of unelected officials, which helps to curb government spending. He was initially tapped to helm the controversial Office of Government Efficiency (DOGE), but the administration has since claimed that Musk is not a leader of Doge, but a White House adviser. He was appointed as another interim director.
Polls show that around 38% of US adults have a positive view of SpaceX CEOs, while 57% say they are not.
A recent Harvard Cap/Harris survey found Trump's approval rating of 52% a month later. Meanwhile, 43% disapproved.
A CNN poll conducted by SSRS, released a few days ago, found the president's approval that 47% of Americans were Americans. More than half of respondents in the survey, 52%, had a negative view of Trump.
The Reuters/Ipsos survey was conducted between February 21-23 among 1,029 US adults. The margin for error was 3% points.
