Trump Asked Me to Take the Role; Thom Tillis Stopped It Regarding the J6 Hoax

Sen. Tom Tillis and a Controversial Nomination

In a recent discussion with Ed Martin, Sen. Tom Tillis (R-NC) acknowledged that he had initially supported a committee nomination, but Martin later claimed that Tillis reversed this position. Martin emphasized that Tillis needs to “take responsibility for that.”

Martin expressed surprise that Tillis publicly backed him on various issues, suggesting they had met briefly for 90 minutes. He also referred to Tillis as someone who accepted what he termed the “J6 hoax.”

According to Martin, the “J6 hoax” implies a belief that media narratives, especially those from Liz Cheney, are misleading regarding the Capitol riots. He mentioned that due to false charges, individuals have been imprisoned for over three years. In his view, Tillis endorses this so-called lie about January 6th, which he identified as a key issue.

Martin remarked that President Trump had wanted him to take on a specific role, but he claims that Tillis hindered that process. He believes Tillis should be accountable for his actions and suggested that some influential figures in Washington are resistant to individuals like him who challenge corruption.

Furthermore, Martin noted that voters are paying attention to Tillis’s actions, especially since he had communicated, face-to-face, that he would support advancing Martin’s nomination. “We met, and by the end of our discussion, he basically said he would move me forward. However, within hours, he seemed to change his mind,” Martin stated.
