Fox News Celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary

FOX News anchor Shannon Bream highlights the nationwide celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the United States. Events include a stunning fireworks show in Washington, D.C., President Donald Trump’s address at a historic site, a rally honoring veterans—featuring a 103-year-old World War II veteran—and an international naval review in New York Harbor. This segment showcases a strong sense of patriotism and collective spirit.

In a post on Truth Social, President Trump mentioned that he had “reversed” his earlier decision to call off the festivities in Washington, D.C., which had been affected by the weather. He noted, “The crowd at 7:05 p.m. was 422,000! When I found out it was canceled because of lightning, I changed my mind and waited for the crowd to return. To my surprise, at least 150,000 people came back, and it turned out to be an even better night than usual! Incredible pressure,” he declared.

Trump praised the Secret Service and law enforcement for their quick work in getting people back into the area. He added a twist of drama, noting that it rained heavily right after the fireworks concluded.

As Americans celebrated the nation’s milestone, many gathered in Washington, D.C., for Independence Day events, although some were asked to leave due to an approaching storm.

Daniel Alvarez, a spokesperson for Freedom 250, stated, “In light of the severe weather, we are advising attendees to evacuate and find shelter in nearby buildings.” However, in another update later that night, they announced that, under President Trump’s instructions, the National Mall would reopen at 9:45 p.m.

Finally, President Trump delivered a speech late Saturday, and soon after, a grand fireworks display launched just around midnight. The fireworks show was met with enthusiasm, and Trump later expressed his congratulations to Freedom 250 and the fireworks team, saying, “I’ve seen many shows, but this was the most spectacular I’ve ever witnessed. Great job!”
