Trump Attends US Open Men’s Final

President Donald Trump was present at the US Open in Queens, New York, for the men’s tennis final on September 7, 2025.

He arrived at Arthur Ashe Stadium around 1:45 PM, stepping out to cheers about 15 minutes before the much-anticipated match was set to begin at 2 PM.

However, some fans expressed frustration over the delays caused by security protocols related to the President’s visit, resulting in long waits for entry. This delay left the stadium notably half-empty as the scheduled start time approached, prompting organizers to push back the start of the match.

“Due to security measures and to give fans more time to find their seats, we have delayed the start time,” the Open stated in a release.

Eventually, the match featuring players Janik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz commenced 48 minutes late, kicking off around 2:48 PM.

Trump was accompanied by several figures from his administration, including US Attorney General Pam Bondy and Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent. His entourage also included his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and granddaughter, Arabella, among others.

In the final, Alcaraz triumphed over Sinner with a score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, marking his second tournament victory.

This win elevates Alcaraz to the top position in the men’s world rankings, displacing Sinner.
