Trump Attends Second Golf Tournament Recently

President Donald Trump has made headlines once more, this time joining a golf event he owns. After attending a PGA Tour competition at the Doral Course in South Florida last week, he journeyed to Trump National Golf Course in Sterling, Virginia, to watch LIV golfers.

Arriving in a golf cart, Trump was accompanied by his son Eric and several officials from the Public Investment Fund, engaging in handshakes and conversations.

Last week, Trump discussed how the return of LIV golfers to the PGA Tour could positively impact the sport, especially in light of recent uncertainties surrounding LIV Golf after Saudi Arabia announced it would cease funding the league after this season.

“I believe all golfers should play against each other,” Trump remarked to reporters. “They thought something was a monopoly, and that’s being shaken up. It should be the opposite of a monopoly,” he added during a visit to the presidential office last Thursday.

He expressed a desire to see more matchups between prominent players, saying, “I want to meet Rory [McIlroy]. He plays Bryson DeChambeau. Also, watching Jon Rahm compete against Scotty Scheffler would be fantastic. LIV has impressive players, and people clearly want to see them together.”

Rory McIlroy commented that having LIV golfers return to the PGA would be “good business,” while expressing uncertainty about the situation with LIV. He noted, “The tour aims to bring in the best players. You can’t have that if they’re essentially boycotting. They might make some appearances, but I expect them all back on tour soon.”

Having previously participated in LIV events held at his course, Trump is gearing up for two LIV events this year, the next being at Bedminster, New Jersey, in August. Remarkably, the recent Cadillac Championship, won by Cameron Young, marked the first PGA Tour event at Trump’s course in a decade.

Last year, Trump also attended the opening day of the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in New York. His appearances continue to draw interest from both fans and the media.
