Former President Donald Trump attended the wake for slain NYPD officer Jonathan Diller at Massapequa Park Funeral Home Thursday afternoon and called for law and order.
“It’s a really sad, sad thing. It’s really horrible. And it happens too often, and we’re not going to tolerate it,” Trump said.
“We need law and order,” he added.
Diller was shot in the abdomen by a man with 21 prior arrests as he tried to remove Guy Rivera, 34, from his car during a traffic stop in Queens on Monday. Rivera opened fire on Diller and his partner around 5:45 p.m. Monday. Police approached the vehicle as it was illegally parked at a bus stop.
Diller, 31, lived in Massapequa Park with his wife and nearly 1-year-old son, Fox News Digital previously reported. He served in the New York City Police Department for three years at the time of his death.

The Trump campaign first announced Wednesday that the 45th president would attend the wake. Along with President Trump, New York City Mayor Eric Adams was also expected to attend the wake.
