Senator John Maguire (R-Va.), a candidate supported by President Trump, appears to be leading against Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.) in Virginia’s 5th Congressional District, but the outcome is still uncertain.
Hours after the polls closed, Good and McGuire remain neck and neck, with McGuire receiving 31,411 votes, or 50.3 percent of the vote. received According to the Associated Press, the number of votes was 31,084, with a vote share of 49.7%.
The election is too close to officially predict the outcome, but Maguire declared victory just before midnight on Tuesday night and said he was confident the remaining votes would go in his favour.
“My life is a testament to the fact that America is the greatest country on earth, and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve this country again,” Maguire said in a statement. “Thank you to my family. Thank you to everyone who helped with this campaign. Thank you to those who supported and supported me. And thank you to Donald J. Trump for believing in me. There are still a few votes left to go, but it is clear that all roads end in victory.”
“The residents of the 5th District should feel safe and elect him in November’s election,” McGuire added.
“They will have a capable fighter in Congress who will get the job done for them,” Maguire added. “I look forward to working with Trump to defeat Joe Biden in November and get his agenda through Congress. Trump and Maguire will Make America Great Again!”

Good writes: post X said he “want to thank” voters for their support while he awaits “the final results of today’s primary election.”
“You all did vote,” Good wrote. “Many of you gave up your valuable time to make phone calls and canvass. Some of you had the tough conversations to help people know the truth about this race. Some of you encouraged family, friends and church members to get out and vote. And some of you worked hours at polling places handing out pamphlets.”
Good added that the “vast majority” of his campaign is funded by small donations from “thousands of people” who believe in him and his campaign.
Dave Wasserman report “It is fair to say that McGuire (R), who is leading Good (R) by 327 votes with 1,532 early votes remaining in Bedford and Fluvanna counties, has a slight edge.”

Former President Donald Trump issued a statement in support of Maguire on May 28, calling Goode “bad for Virginia and bad for the country.”
Trump said Good had “turned his back on our great movement and constantly attacked and fought the former president” before eventually giving Trump his “warm and ‘loving’ support.”
“But it’s too late,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “The damage has already been done!”
Goode initially supported Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) for the Republican presidential nomination after President Trump endorsed her in last year’s primary.
“I’m not against President Trump. I like what he’s doing,” Goode told reporters in January. “I just think we need eight years. That’s why I endorsed Governor DeSantis.”
In an interview Breitbart News SaturdayMcGuire called Trump “the soul of the Republican Party” and Good a “traitorous Never-Trumper.”
