President Donald Trump has declared his full support for Abe Hamadeh, a Republican representative from Arizona, as he seeks re-election after just six months in office. Trump made this announcement via a social media post, praising Hamadeh and referring to him as “America’s first patriot.”
Trump initially endorsed Hamadeh back in December 2023, ahead of the upcoming GOP primary for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District. Interestingly, just before the primary, Trump gave simultaneous endorsements to Hamadeh and another candidate, Breakmasters. Ultimately, Hamadeh emerged victorious in that contest.
In February, Hamadeh proposed a resolution concerning flag displays at congressional facilities. The resolution specifies that, while certain flags can be displayed, it does not restrict members from having flags reflecting their districts in their offices. This includes the American flag and others that represent their respective districts or official visits.
Hamadeh commented on the nature of Congress, emphasizing that it should represent the American people. He expressed frustration over the need to propose a resolution regarding the display of foreign flags. Interestingly, six other House Republicans co-sponsored the resolution along with Hamadeh.
In a separate note, Hamadeh recently reached out to Trump, highlighting the president’s encouragement for young people to serve in the military and expressing his gratitude as Trump celebrated his 79th birthday alongside the Army’s 250th anniversary.
