Trump believes Marjorie Taylor Greene has strayed off course.

On Monday, President Trump addressed criticism from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who claimed he was prioritizing foreign issues over domestic ones, coinciding with his meeting with Syria’s new leader.

Trump expressed surprise at Greene’s remarks, hinting that she might be taking some sort of “action.” In response to questions about her criticism in the Oval Office, he remarked, “I don’t know what happened to Marjorie. She’s a wonderful woman, but she’s lost her way.”

He emphasized the need to view the presidency from a global perspective, saying, “We could end up with a world on fire where war could easily break out.” Trump also referenced a significant Republican measure from earlier this year, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, to illustrate his commitment to domestic policy.

“When someone like Marjorie starts making statements like that, it shows she doesn’t know anything,” Trump added, expressing his astonishment at her comments.

He noted that he meets with roughly one foreign leader each week and has traveled extensively, including recent trips to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia during the government shutdown.

Greene’s criticism stemmed from Trump’s interaction with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa.

Once a staunch ally of Trump, Greene has voiced frustrations with the Republican Party lately, particularly regarding the expiration of enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies. In a somewhat unexpected move, she even praised former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) after news broke of her decision not to seek re-election, calling Pelosi’s capability to get things done “impressive.” This sentiment sharply contrasts with Trump’s characterization of Pelosi as an “evil woman.”
