Fox News host Bret Baier reported on “The Story with Martha MacCallum” that former President Trump is recovering “very well” since the assassination attempt and praised the “good conversation” he had with President Biden.
Steve Scalise: Left-wing ‘extreme and violent rhetoric needs to stop’
Bret Baier: He is doing great. He is on his way to Milwaukee and leaves at 3:30. He posted about it on Truth Social and said he isn’t going to let the shooter affect his plans in any way. He considered delaying his visit to Milwaukee but decided to go ahead with it.
He’s amazed that it happened. He knows he’s lucky to be here today. In fact, the doctor he spoke to said that if that bullet had been in a different spot and missed by a quarter inch, he wouldn’t be talking to that doctor today. He talked to me about a lot of things, but I asked him about the tournament and his thoughts on things.

He has posted on Truth Social several times calling for national unity. He said he intends to make that a theme for the convention and may make some changes based on what he says and what others do. He talked about inviting Nikki Haley to speak and her accepting. He praised President Biden for calling the former president. He said it was a good conversation and Biden, without many words, offered his condolences to the family of the deceased, the Comperatore family, which the former president also mentioned.
