Trump Welcomes Dodgers to White House

President Donald Trump was in high spirits as he hosted the Dodgers at the White House.

During a lively outdoor ceremony in the Rose Garden on Thursday, he shared a few light-hearted jokes with the team.

One particularly memorable moment arose when Trump posed an amusing question to pitchers Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani.

“Who’s the better pitcher?” he inquired, prompting smiles from both players and the Dodgers’ staff. Trump took nearly 20 minutes to commend the Dodgers on their achievements during the 2025 season, which culminated in their thrilling Game 7 victory over the Blue Jays in the World Series.

Notably absent from the White House visit were Mookie Betts, Quique Hernandez, and relief pitcher Edgardo Enriquez. Betts mentioned that he wouldn’t be joining his teammates due to family commitments.

The Dodgers made the trip to Washington during an off day of their nine-game road trip. This visit marked the second consecutive year the team celebrated their World Series win at the White House.

During the event, Dodgers owner Mark Walter presented Trump with a No. 47 jersey and a World Series ring. There had been some scheduling uncertainties regarding this visit, as the Dodgers couldn’t make it to the White House during their opening road trip, which also prevented a series against the Nationals to kick off the season.
