Trump Signs Peace Agreement with Armenia and Azerbaijan

On Friday, President Trump brought together leaders from Armenia and Azerbaijan to sign a peace agreement.

“It’s been a long journey. They’ve been in conflict for 35 years, and now, they’re becoming friends. And I hope they stay friends for a long time. It’s truly an honor to host everyone here at the White House for this historic peace summit,” he stated.

Central to the trilateral agreement is the concept of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (Tripp), aimed at enhancing connections between the two nations.

The White House described this transport corridor as a long-cherished goal for Azerbaijan, designed to traverse Armenia while honoring its “sovereignty, territorial integrity, and its people.”

“We’re moving past years of standoffs and conflict. We’re paving a brighter, safer future for our children. That’s why I’m thrilled today—this is a pivotal moment in our history,” said Azerbaijani President Aliyev.

The United States also initiated separate bilateral agreements with Armenia and Azerbaijan, focusing on investments in various sectors such as energy, technology, economic collaboration, border security, infrastructure, and trade. Aliyev remarked that this development would benefit American businesses while boosting the economies of both countries.

Trump highlighted the signing as another foreign policy triumph for his administration, with some of his supporters advocating for him to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for these efforts.

Both leaders, during the summit, expressed their belief that Trump is deserving of a Nobel Prize. “I think President Trump should absolutely be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize… that’s something we’re promoting,” said Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan.

In addition to this agreement, Trump mentioned his involvement in reducing tensions in various global conflicts, including those between India and Pakistan, Congo and Rwanda, and Cambodia and Thailand.

Yet, his administration has not succeeded in resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which he had committed to addressing during his campaign. Violence continues in Gaza, further exacerbating a worsening humanitarian crisis.
