Anthony Scaramucci, a former communications director for the Trump administration, said on MSNBC’s “Deadline” on Thursday that former President Donald Trump’s calling Vice President Kamala Harris an “idiot” was “a reflection of his racism.”
Referring to Trump’s press conference at Mar-a-Lago, Scaramucci said, “If President Trump starts saying his audience is bigger than Taylor Swift’s audience, then we’ll know we’re really entering insanity territory.”
He continued, “I know him well. He’s very upset. He’s been brainstorming over the last few days about campaign changes and strategy, which is why he’s not moving around the country. And he went to his staff and said, let me show you how it’s done. I’m a narcissistic alpha male. Let me go out and do some crazy Fidel Castro stuff for a couple of hours.”
Scaramucci added, “I’ll just say this: He called the vice president an idiot at least four times today. This is a display of his racism. She’s an extremely capable person. If you look at her record and the person she is, it’s completely unreasonable for him to call her that. People need to confront him about that and check him directly on things like that.”
