On Thursday, President Trump called for a halt to the national injunction, suggesting that the Supreme Court should intervene as his administration faced multiple sets from federal judges.
“The illegal national injunction by a radical left judge can lead to the destruction of our country very well!” Trump posted to the True Society. “These people are crazy people and don't care at all about the impact of very dangerous and false decisions and rulings.”
Trump said it was a “legal obligation to comply with government laws to overturn these “orders.”
Trump complained that he “want to take on the power of the presidency” without being elected. Experts point out that no judges have been elected and therefore do not face political pressure in the ruling.
“Stop the national injunction now before it's too late,” Trump wrote of the true society. “If Judge Roberts and the U.S. Supreme Court do not immediately correct this toxicity and unprecedented situation, our country is in very serious trouble!”
The Trump administration faces many injunctions from federal judges suspending aspects of its agenda.
James Boasberg, a Supreme Court Judge for the District of Columbia, issued an order last weekend to suspend the deportation of a group of Venezuelans, including suspected members of the Tren de Lagua gang in El Salvador.
In another post Thursday, Trump attacked Boasberg and called him “ancestors.”
Another federal judge blocked Trump's executive order Tuesday banning transgender people from serving the military.
A federal judge recently ordered the Department of Agriculture, Defense, Energy, Interior, Treasury and Veterans Affairs to immediately recover fired probation employees.
Earlier this month, US District Judge Jon McConnell ruled that he would extend the injunction against the Trump administration's attempt to freeze federal grant payments.
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Thursday that he would introduce legislation to curb what he called “dramatic judicial abuse” by the court that issued an injunction against Trump.
