Trump Calls for Kimmel’s Show to Be Axed

President Donald Trump, in a post on Truth Social, expressed his desire for late-night ABC host Jimmy Kimmel to be removed from the air. He labeled Kimmel as talentless and questioned why ABC was still airing his show given its low ratings.

He wrote, “Why does ABC Fake News continue to air Jimmy Kimmel, who has no talent and very low TV ratings? Why do TV syndicates put up with that? And it’s completely biased reporting. Get him off the air!”

This comment came shortly after “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” aired on Thursday night, during which Kimmel made jokes about Trump’s alleged connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He opened the show with a quip about tracking “Hurricane Epstein” and humorously suggested it was a “Category 5” situation. He added, “What did the president know and how old were these women when he knew?”

Kimmel also took aim at Trump’s recent dinner with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He remarked on the attendees, jokingly calling the gathering a “reunion dinner for the Legion of Doom.” His comedic style often blends current events with sharp humor, though it has drawn some controversy in the past.

In September, Kimmel’s show faced a suspension after he implied that a suspect in an assassination was possibly a Trump supporter. Meanwhile, Trump criticized Kimmel’s network during an interaction with ABC News reporter Mary Bruce, suggesting that ABC should have its broadcast license revoked for what he termed “fake news.” He expressed dissatisfaction with how they reported on him and the Epstein matter.

As of now, representatives for Kimmel have not responded to requests for comments regarding Trump’s statements, nor has ABC’s parent company Disney offered a remark.
