Trump calls for an apology from Schumer for saying that ‘NOBODY RESPECTS BORDER PATROL OR ICE’

President Donald Trump recently expressed his frustration on social media, calling for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to apologize for remarks he made regarding U.S. immigration agencies.

“Wow! Cryin’ Chuck Schumer just said, for the whole World to hear, that ‘NOBODY RESPECTS BORDER PATROL OR ICE.’ That’s one of the most egregious, incorrect, unpatriotic, and dangerous statements I’ve ever heard from a ‘professional’ politician. He must immediately apologize to these great patriots, and I mean now!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Schumer’s comments, made during a Senate session, occurred as Republicans were attempting to advance a budget plan for funding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol amid an ongoing partial government shutdown concerning the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Schumer stated that the GOP was “adding $140 billion dollars … to two groups, Border Patrol and ICE, that nobody respects in this country.”

The non-binding budget resolution, amounting to $70 billion, passed in the Senate early Thursday and is now set to go to the House, positioning ICE and Border Patrol for funding over the next three years.
