Donald Trump has called for unity following the assassination attempt on him.
He posted a short message on Truth Social saying, “Let’s Unite America.”
In the wake of an assassination attempt that shook America to its core, former President Donald Trump is boldly ignoring his own injury in an attempt to motivate the nation to unity after a shocking act of political violence.
The shooting has dominated headlines and effectively ended media discussion of a Democratic alternative to President Joe Biden, and it is now clear that Trump is in control, having vowed to hold the Republican National Convention as scheduled.
At the convention, the Republican Party will formally nominate Trump as its presidential candidate, while also revealing its choice of running mate and successor as a flag bearer for the America First movement. With Trump’s own death still at the forefront of public attention, the choice will be of crucial national importance.

Corey Comperatore, a Pennsylvania firefighter and father of two daughters, was killed in the shooting.
Two other men were also wounded in the shooting but are currently in stable condition.
The gunman was shot dead by authorities.
A Pennsylvania firefighter and two other local residents have been identified as victims in the shooting that targeted former President Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday.
Authorities identified the man killed Sunday as Corey Comperatore, a firefighter from Thurber, Pennsylvania, who had two daughters and was an ardent Trump supporter. The two men injured in the shooting, a 57-year-old from New Kensington, Pennsylvania, and a 74-year-old from Moon Township, Pennsylvania, were in stable condition as of Sunday, according to an update from Pennsylvania State Police.
“Yesterday, time stopped,” the victim’s daughter, Allison Comperatore, wrote on Facebook, “and then it started moving again as me and my family began living our real-life nightmare.”
The shooting suspect, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was also shot and killed by authorities shortly after the shooting.
