President Donald Trump recently expressed his support for Shedeur Sanders, the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback, who surprisingly dropped to the fifth round in the NFL Draft. Sanders was expected to be picked much earlier, perhaps even in the second round. Trump shared his thoughts on Truth Social, which many viewed as one of the more interesting moments of the weekend.
In a recent podcast, Shedeur’s brother, Shilo Sanders, commented on Trump’s post. He described it as “the coolest thing I’ve ever seen,” adding a touch of humor about its significance. Shilo remarked that having the president tweet about them was quite a moment, suggesting that something substantial must be happening.
Shedeur saw Trump’s message as a win, a “W,” and Trump’s awareness of him before the draft raised eyebrows. Former Alabama coach Nick Saban referenced a visit to Trump’s White House, humorously noting that someone “pressed the red button.”
Trump questioned the NFL owners, suggesting they were missing out on a great talent in Dion Sanders, who has made a significant impact both as a player and coach. He mentioned that Shedeur should be selected by the team he wants to succeed with, extending his good wishes to the Sanders family.
White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt hinted that the Trump Post would have an impact next week. Shedeur Sanders now faces competition for the starting quarterback position with players like Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco.
In other news, Shilo Sanders recently signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which gives him a chance to build his career in the NFL.
