Former President Trump's campaign has mocked Vice President Harris for bringing along Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (Democrat) for her first interview since announcing her candidacy for the White House.

The post from the campaign account repeated frequent criticism from President Trump and his allies over Harris' failure to give full interviews to the media since Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed her.
He also criticized Harris and Waltz for a joint interview with CNN, which announced it would air the interview on Thursday at 9 p.m.
“It's no coincidence that Kamala's first interview is scheduled for the Thursday night before Labor Day weekend. They're already hoping it gets lost. And it hasn't even aired yet. Kamala is apparently so terrified about doing the interview in person that it's being pre-recorded so they can get it clean,” the Trump War Room said. I wrote to X.
Trump's first interview since the Republican National Convention It was a joint interview. Along with his running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), and Fox News' Jesse Watters.
Harris vowed earlier this month to do a full interview by the end of August. The interview with CNN's Dana Bash came about a week after Harris formally accepted the Democratic presidential nomination and just over a week before she is scheduled to debate Trump on Sept. 10. The former president confirmed on Tuesday that she will attend the debate, having previously expressed doubts about it happening.
When asked for comment on the post, Harris' campaign told The Hill that it's tradition for candidates to do joint interviews.
“For at least 20 years, every candidate, Republican or Democratic, has done a joint interview. The only exception was four years ago when Donald Trump walked out of a joint interview with 60 Minutes' Lesley Stahl because he could not bear to hold Trump accountable for his extreme and unpopular record,” Harris campaign spokesperson Lauren Hitt said in a statement, referring to Trump's walking out of an interview with Lesley Stahl and Vice President Mike Pence in 2020.
