The Trump campaign has rallied around comments from White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, saying there is no “gap” between President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and arguing that the comments reflect “Kamala’s ownership of the border crisis” and other issues plaguing the country.
“Thanks for confirming @PressSec: There is no ‘gap’ between Kamala and Joe! Kamala is responsible for the border crisis. Kamala is responsible for the inflation. Kamala is responsible for the last 4 years of war, chaos and crime,” Trump campaign national press secretary Carolyn Leavitt wrote in a video of Jean-Pierre posted to X on Monday afternoon.
Levitt was responding to Jean-Pierre’s comments at a White House press conference on Monday, saying Biden and Harris have been “aligned” throughout the administration and there is no “gap” between them.
“[Harris is] “She’s going to present her vision, but again, they’ve been aligned for the last three and a half years. Nothing’s set in stone yet,” Jean-Pierre said.

The White House spokesman was responding to media questions about a possible policy reconciliation between Biden and Harris as President Biden completes his final months in office and Harris continues to rally support for her bid for the presidential election in November.

Levitt, in exclusive comments to Fox News Digital on Monday, added that a Harris administration “cannot be trusted” to address such issues because “Kamala created this mess.”

“Today the Biden White House confirmed a fact that Kamala Harris refuses to acknowledge: There is no separation between Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. Kamala is responsible for the illegal immigration crisis that continues to rage on our southern border. She is also responsible for the inflation crisis that has made food, rent and gas out of control. Electing Kamala is like hiring a burglar who robbed your house and put new locks on your doors. Kamala created this mess and she cannot be trusted to clean it up,” Leavitt said.

Harris has not held a news conference since emerging as the Democratic presidential front-runner last month and has sought to distance herself from issues that have plagued the country under Biden, including a migrant surge and continuing inflation.
Biden has a light schedule this week with five months left in his term.

“Kamala Harris has fought violent crime for decades. As a border state prosecutor, she took on drug cartels and jailed gang members who smuggled weapons and drugs across the border,” a new campaign ad about her border policy reads.

They added, “As vice president, she supported the toughest border control bill in decades, and as president, she will hire thousands more Border Patrol agents and crack down on fentanyl and human trafficking.”
Former President Trump has said Harris was the “driving force” of Biden administration policy and has repeatedly criticized her team as a continuation of the Biden administration.

“Harris is the ultra-liberal engine behind every Biden disaster. She’s a far-left lunatic who would destroy our country if she had the chance to become president,” Trump said while campaigning in North Carolina late last month.
