President Joe Biden’s efforts to force federal agencies to mobilize favorable voting bloc have suffered another major setback, this time in Michigan.
background
The Heritage Foundation’s government watchdog group Oversight Project reported in a Blaze News exclusive in May that Biden’s faithful implementation of the bill was Executive Order 14019 This could manifest as “election interference.”
The order takes for granted that minorities, particularly Black people, face disproportionately “significant obstacles” to voting today, due, among other things, to “voter ID laws and limited access to mail-in voting.”
To remedy this potential problem,
Vote heavily for the Democratic PartyBiden suggested it was important for his administration to become more involved in the electoral process. Forced Federal agencies will “examine ways to expand opportunities for Americans to register to vote, receive information about the election process, and participate in the election process.”
Mike Howell, executive director of the Oversight Project, previously told The Blaze News that the left-leaning think tank Demos
2020 Recommendations The Biden Administration has ostensibly acted on Executive Order 14019, I boasted. The so-called “Biden Bucks” plan could result in as many as 3 million new voter registrations per year.
Although Biden’s weakening performance after his disastrous debate defeat against President Donald Trump has led to him dropping in the polls, millions of votes in key battleground states could still tilt the election in his favor.
“The Biden administration’s desperation to win an unfair and illegal election knows no bounds.”
On top of that
Publicize strategic plans of various agenciesThe Oversight Project highlighted three ways states could thwart the plan: by passing legislation attacking the application of the order on presidential elections, by blocking the plan with complaints about possible violations of the Hatch Act, and by removing or attacking designations of federal agencies acting under the National Voter Registration Act that have not been provided by states or that have been provided without proper authority.
Some Republicans appeared to be taking notice.
Counterattack
Earlier this month, Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales (Republican) notified federal agencies and departments operating in the state that they would be prohibited from conducting voter registration or other election activities without the state’s permission, and said the state had taken steps to comply.
“If your agency distributes voter registration forms or assists the public with voter registration forms or absentee ballots, we ask that you immediately cease such conduct as the unauthorized conduct of such activities is likely a violation of Indiana and federal law,” Morales said in a letter to various agencies under Indiana’s executive order.
“When it comes to elections, the states know best,” Morales said.
I have written Regarding X. “We don’t need expanded federal powers to conduct safe and secure elections!”
Last week, the America First Institute, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose (R-Ohio), and Texas Republican Sens. Ronny Jackson and Beth Van Duyne, among others,
Lawsuit filed Congress is suing Biden, Attorney General Merrick Garland and several other key figures in the Democratic administration over the executive order, arguing that Biden and his Cabinet members “violated federal law, usurped states’ role in voter registration and redirected federal resources to partisan voter mobilization efforts.”
The complaint, echoing many of the concerns raised by the Oversight Project, noted that Biden’s “executive orders and the actions of his implementing agencies violate federal law, including multiple violations of the Administrative Procedure Act.”
He also stressed that the executive order unconstitutionally expands the federal government’s role in elections.
“The Biden Administration’s desperation to win an unfair and illegal election knows no bounds,” Rep. Jackson said.
Said “Instead of instilling the policies the American people want and need, they are relying on a well-oiled Washington swamp full of Deep State allies to illegally register voters to help them win,” the statement said.
“This is a cynical attempt to turn a government agency into a Democratic turnout machine, and it’s wrong, and that’s why I’m joining this lawsuit and working to hold the administration accountable,” LaRose said.
Taking Whitmer to court
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (Democrat) and her administration seem especially eager to see Biden’s efforts through to completion.
The monitoring project is run by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Announced Agreement reached with Michigan Department of State to help implement Biden’s executive order.
This is especially worrying given Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s poor record on elections: In 2021, a court found she violated state law by unilaterally changing absentee voting rules ahead of the 2020 election. She also worked closely with groups funded by Mark Zuckerberg to influence the state’s 2019 election.

Sued The Biden Administration, Governor Whitmer and Governor Benson clashed on Monday over the “Biden Bucks” plan.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, alleges that Governor Whitmer issued an executive order in December designating several state and federal agencies, including the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, as voter registrars, despite having no legislative authority to do so.
“This is an illegal attempt by Biden, Whitmer, Benson and the ruling party to rig our nation’s most important election.”
The lawsuit further noted that Benson, who also lacks such authority, similarly designated various Small Business Administration offices throughout the state’s VRA.
“These unauthorized actions do not constitute a lawful designation by the State of Michigan for purposes of section 7 of the NVRA, and therefore the designated VA and SBA offices are not lawfully operating as VRAs under federal law,” the complaint states.
The Oversight Project has previously noted that the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 provides that federal and non-governmental agencies can engage in the types of activities directed by the executive order only if a state “designates” them.[s]”To have that office serve as a registrar of voters.”
The plaintiffs are seeking a “permanent injunction prohibiting the state defendants from designating any VRA without the express authorization of the Michigan Legislature.”
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley
Said “The federal government should not be using American taxpayer money to conduct unauthorized voter registration drives,” the department said in a statement.
“This is an illegal attempt by Biden, Whitmer, Benson and the ruling party to rig our nation’s most important election,” Whatley continued. “We are committed to stopping this erosion of election integrity and making our elections secure.”
Monitoring Project
Said “The revelations of the ‘Bidenbucks’ scheme to harness the entire federal government to promote votes for President Joe Biden’s campaign are legally jeopardized,” the lawsuit states at the start of the lawsuit.
A spokesperson for the Michigan Department of State told The Blaze News in a statement: “It is unfortunate that this divisive and partisan lawsuit was filed yesterday. Making it easier for Michigan veterans and small business owners to register to vote should not be controversial.”
The spokesperson added, “We will review this lawsuit and any future lawsuits we face, but we remain committed to ensuring that all Michigan voters have the tools and resources they need to participate in every election.”
The Blaze News also reached out to the governor’s office but did not immediately receive a response.
