Former President Donald Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC) raised $141 million in May, even after a Manhattan jury convicted the former president.
The Trump team statement The $141 million raised came from “more than 2 million donations, averaging $70.27 each,” the report said, and about 25% of donors in May “were not interested in the 2024 campaign at all.”
Groups supporting the former president also reportedly raised $150 million in May.
The statement added that the Trump campaign and these groups combined raised “approximately $300 million” in May.
The donations received were described as “a response of support for President Trump in the face of the false Biden trial and verdict that has outraged and inspired Americans from all walks of life.”
“We are heartened by the outpouring of support for President Donald J. Trump,” Trump campaign senior advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said in a statement. “The American people saw through the fraudulent trial of Joe Biden and sent a powerful message to Biden and the Democratic Party.”

LaCivita and Wiles added that the real verdict will come on Nov. 5, the day of the 2024 presidential election.
“The American people understood the Biden trial for what it was: a sham attempt to keep President Trump away from voters and confine him to the courts,” Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley and Co-Chair Lara Trump said in a statement. “It did not work because voters understand the stark contrast between President Trump’s record of success and Joe Biden’s failure.”
Trump was convicted by a jury in his business records trial on May 30. The jury found him guilty of 34 first-degree counts of falsifying business records related to payments made by Trump’s former lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, to adult entertainment star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Twenty-four hours after the guilty verdict, the Trump campaign reported it had raised about $53 million in donations.
